Human Rights

I'm most proud of my work as a human rights lawyer.
I led a team of Yale students to document human rights abuses in the prisons in Pakistan. We gathered evidence of systemic human rights violations in the prisons of the Punjab Province of northern Pakistan in partnership with Justice Project Pakistan. We convinced future Prime Minister Imran Khan to read our writing in front of thousands of people at a rally in Lahore in 2013 -- and guided our local partner human rights lawyer to speak on prime-time Pakistani television. See our writing (link 1, 2, 3). We also published an essay in the Baltimore Sun (link). Yale covered our work (link). The Open Society supported this human rights advocacy.
Separately, I worked on a team to document instances where children with disabilites in Ireland were not granted sufficient access to public schools. My team filed legal petitions to change the rules in the Irish public sector. We partnered with the Mental Disability Advocacy Centre. The Open Society supported this work.
