One thing I love about Burning Man is the emphasis on leisure.

 

In mature cultures – like India --

     devoting time to leisure is aspirational.

​

India has important leisure activities like drinking tea in the afternoon.

     If you want to be civilized, you must break for afternoon tea.

​

Status games develop around drinking tea;

     People compete to join clubs where

     people want to be seen having afternoon tea.

 

Burning Man has tea clubs and all kinds of spaces for leisure.

     Leisure activities give rise to creativity –

     we need more creativity in our lives.

​

Leisure is not silly – it should be an aspirational value.

     Imagine a world where you get more creative as you age.​​
